Vladimir Putin signed a decree on special economic measures in connection with the unfriendly actions of Ukraine. The text of the document is published on the Kremlin website.
It says that sanctions are introduced “in response to unfriendly and contradicting international law of Ukraine related to the introduction of restrictive measures against citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation, in order to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation”.
Special economic measures must act against Ukrainian individuals and legal entities. At the same time, the decree prescribes to the government of the Russian Federation to determine the list of these persons, as well as the very content of “special measures”.
The decree enters into force from the moment of signing - October 22 - and can be canceled if Kyiv refuses the restrictions introduced against Russian citizens and legal entities.
