Kazan: another case under Art. 282 against opponents of learning the Tatar language in schools

In October 2018, it became known that in the city of Kazan Republic of Tatarstan, another criminal case was initiated under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code in regarding the opponent of the study of the Tatar language in schools, Olga Ziyatdinova.

Recall that this was the second case initiated against Zayatdinova under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code. Around the beginning of 2018, a similar case was initiated on the fact publications from the account "Olga Gavrilenko" (maiden name Ziyatdinova) of an anti-Tatar comment in one of the social networks. According to the media, the comment “insulted a user who defended Tatar language. The woman subsequently claimed that this recording was made by her son, until she was at home.

On February 9, 2018, her home was searched, during which investigators "discovered videotapes of intimate scenes involving the suspect and her husband in the presence of their minor son." On this fact, another criminal case was initiated - under Part 2 of Art. 135 of the Criminal Code (indecent acts committed against a person who has reached the age of 12, but has not reached the age of 14) and paragraph “b” of Part 2 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code (violent acts of a sexual nature, connected with the threat of causing grievous bodily harm). In April 2018, the court decided to arrest Ziyatdinova and place her in a pre-trial detention center.

Zayatdinova, among other things, is an ardent opponent of mandatory learning the Tatar language in schools. In 2017, she even filed a lawsuit to the regional Ministry of Education and the cadet boarding school named after. Kuznetsova, in which she demanded compensation for "forcing" her son to study Tatar language. The woman asked the court to oblige the school to pay 30 thousand rubles for the son missed 60 hours of training in various subjects and 1 million rubles - as compensation for non-pecuniary damage for learning the Tatar language. IN In early November 2017, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan dismissed the claim.
