They are trying to bring a deputy of the Dimitrovgrad City Duma to justice for a video with a call not to vote for United Russia.

With regard to Sergei Kryuchkov, a protocol was drawn up under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

On November 20, 2018, it became known that with respect to Deputy of the City Duma of Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk Region from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Sergei Kryuchkov, a protocol was drawn up under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (distribution extremist materials).

The reason was that the employees of the regional FSB found on Kryuchkov's page a banned video containing a call not to vote for United Russia. Obviously, we are talking about the video of supporters of Alexei Navalny "Let's remember To crooks and thieves their Manifesto-2002", which was recognized as extremist Kirovsky District Court of Novosibirsk in 2013. Its content is to listing a number of unfulfilled election promises of "United Russia" from the 2002 party manifesto and a call to vote for any party other than "United Russia". We consider the ban of this video unreasonable, and persecution for its distribution is unlawful.

The deputy refused to sign the protocol, they took him explanatory note. Kryuchkov suggests that the real reason for the persecution there may be a conflict between local deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with the mayor of Dimitrovgrad, as well as his (Kryuchkov) active position in connection with the environmental situation in the village of Mullovka, residents which are affected by emissions from the plant located there.

On November 28, the Dimitrovgrad City Court returned Kryuchkov's case to the police due to the fact that the protocol was drawn up by unauthorized persons.
