Director of Bernardo Bertolucci died

The Italian film director and playwright Bernardo Bertolucci died at the 78th year of his life in Rome. This was reported by the newspapers Corriere Della Sera and Repubblica .

Bertolucci is known as the author of the films “Conformist” (Il Conformista, 1970), “Last Tango in Paris” (Ultimo Tango a Parigi, 1972), “The Twentieth Century” (Il Novecento, 1976), “The Last Emperor” (The Last Emperor, 1987), “The Uplous Beauty”) (Stealing Beauty, 1996), “Dreamers” (The Dreamers, 2003) and many others.

The director’s work was marked by prestigious cinema awards. Bertolucci became the owner of the Oscar (1987), Golden Globe (1988), BAFTA (1989), Berlin International Film Festival (1970), and the Venice Film Festival (1997, 2007). In 2011, Bertolucci received an honorary prize of the Cannes Film Festival, in 2013 he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Alley of Glory.
