Writer George R.R. Martin is known, first of all, with his grandiose cycle “The Song of Ice and Flame”, according to which the series “Game of Thrones” of the HBO channel was shot. “ Nightflyers” - a film adaptation of Martin’s fantastic story, where the heroes fly through the entire solar system, face an alien form of life and are rapidly beast in the process. In this story, the film was already released in 1987, and Martin was then the co -author of the script. Although the film did not become a hit, the writer believed that it was this tape that saved his career. The Syfy channel assures that their series was equally inspired by both the film and the original story. True, George Martin himself did not take part in the production of the show - the obligations to HBO was not allowed. Therefore, the project scriptwriter Jeffrey Buhler is led by the project - he wrote a horror film “Midnight Express” with Bradley Cooper. According to Buhler, he wanted to distance himself in this work from the bloody camp film adaptation of 1987 and get closer to the atmosphere of Stanley Kubrick. The main roles are busy Brian F. O'Birn ( BAFTA Award for the mini-series “Boy in the Blue T-shirt”) and Gretchen, known for the film “Obbelled Betty Page” and the series “ Boardwalk Empire ” . Ten episodes of the show will fly to the Syfy site on the day of the premiere.
