In Chelyabinsk, a disabled person of the first group, who is accused of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir, was released on his own recognizance.

The investigator did not apply to extend the arrest of Amir Gilyazov.

On December 21, 2018, Amir Gilyazov, accused under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) for involvement in the activities of the radical Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in Russia, was released on his own recognizance.

Earlier, on October 23, 2018, the Traktorozavodsky District Court of Chelyabinsk sent Gilyazov under arrest for two months; on November 23, the regional court declared this decision legal. 45-year-old Gilyazov is a disabled person of the first group; he has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a congenital disease leading to gradual atrophy of the neuromuscular system, including the muscles of the respiratory and cardiac organs. Gilyazov weighs 40 kilograms, his limbs are paralyzed, only one arm is partially functional, and he requires constant assistance in self-care and moving in a wheelchair. During his arrest, Gilyazov was sent by ambulance to a local hospital, which did not prevent him from being placed under arrest on the same day. Later, after the intervention of the local Social Monitoring Commission, Gilyazov was transferred to the prison hospital, where his diagnosis was confirmed. A meeting was scheduled for December 21 to extend his preventive measure, but the investigator withdrew the relevant petition.

Let us remind you that we consider it unlawful to accuse Hizb ut-Tahrir followers of terrorism only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.).
