In early 2019, in the village of Severnoye, Novosibirsk Region, Melnikov beat and robbed a man whom he suspected of "non-traditional sexual orientation."
Melnikov, together with his acquaintance, broke into the victim's house and began to ask him about "his non-traditional sexual orientation", he denied everything and asked them to leave. However, Melnikov hit the man with a knife, after which he opened the refrigerator and pulled out chicken legs and a tray with cutlets.
On October 9, 2019, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of the Novosibirsk Region delivered a sentence under par. "in" part 2 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of minor bodily harm), Part 1 of Art. 161 (robbery). Melnikov was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 2 years with a probationary period of 1 year.
