Japanese Arata Isodzaki became the winner of the Main Architectural Prize


The Japanese architect Arata Isodzaki became the laureate of the Pritzkarev Prize - the most prestigious award in the field of architecture. This was reported on the website of The Pritzker Prize.

Isodzaki graduated from the architectural department of the Faculty of Engineering of Tokyo University in 1954. He designed about 100 buildings, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Palau Sant Jordi sports arena in Barcelona, ​​the Palan Alpitour arena in Turin, and the Allianz Tower skyscraper in Milan.

“For many years, he tried to make sure that some areas of the world with long -standing architectural traditions were not limited by these traditions, but helped to spread these traditions, while studying at the rest of the world,” the chairman of the jury said.

The Prittskovsky Prize has been awarded since 1979. The laureate receives a bronze medal, certificate and $ 100 thousand.
