
Petrozavodsky City Court extended the arrest of the head of the Karelian Memorial to Yuri Dmitriev until June 25. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the lawyer Viktor Anufriev.
The consideration of the case on which Dmitriev is accused of violence over the adopted daughter, storage of children's pornography and weapons details began on February 27. Earlier it became known that a sexological and psychiatric examination did not reveal deviations from Dmitriev.
Dmitriev was charged under paragraph “B” of Part 4 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code. According to investigators, from 2012 to 2016, he committed violent acts of a sexual nature in relation to his minor adopted daughter.
In April 2018, the Petrozavodsk City Court fully justified Dmitriev under the article on the manufacture of children's pornography, as well as under an article on depraved actions in relation to the adoptive daughter, recognizing him the right to rehabilitation and compensation for damage. However, the court found Dmitriev to be guilty of illegal storage of parts of the smooth -bore gun and sentenced to 2.5 years the restrictions of freedom, but took into account the deadline that he left for the investigative insulator. As a result, the term decreased to 3 months of restriction of freedom.
On June 14, the Supreme Court of Karelia, following the consideration of appeals and the submission of the prosecutor's office, canceled the first instance sentence and sent a criminal case for a new consideration.
On June 27, Dmitriev was detained on suspicion of sexual violence against her adopted daughter and arrested.
Yuri Dmitriev himself does not plead guilty. In the Memorial, his business is considered political.
