In the Perm region, the head of penal colony 10 was sentenced to 5 years of strict regime for bribes from prisoners

In the Perm Territory, the Chusovsky City Court sentenced the former head of correctional colony No. 10, Evgeniy Novozhenov, accused of accepting bribes from prisoners, to five years in a maximum security colony, reports . MBKh Media

Novozhenov was also fined 340 thousand rubles, but was not deprived of the rank of lieutenant colonel in the internal service.

According to MBKh Media, Novozhenov took bribes from prisoners in the amount of 5 to 60 thousand rubles. According to the card on the court’s website, his case contains six episodes under Article 290 of the Criminal Code.

According to the publication, prisoner Andrei Bakurov told during the investigation that he brewed moonshine right in the colony canteen and drank it. Through an intermediary, another convict Dmitry Karpov, he contacted the head of the colony to avoid punishment for drunkenness. According to him, Novozhenov released him from the punishment cell several times, where Bakurov was sent for violations.

In addition, the head of IK-10 provided Karpov and another prisoner named Sharlaimov with long visits that they were not entitled to. However, the court did not punish Novozhenov for the episode related to Sharlaimov due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
