CEC did not allow Pavel Grudinin to become a deputy

The Central Election Commission reported that Pavel Grudinin could not apply for the deputy mandate from the Communist Party, since at the time of registration by the candidate in 2016, he did not close the accounts abroad, TASS reports .

“A person who has foreign accounts at the time of registration by the candidate cannot be a deputy,” said Nikolai Bulaev, deputy chairman of the CEC of the Russian Federation at a meeting of the commission.

At the same time, he referred to the law by which the powers of the State Duma deputy are terminated if during the period when he was registered as a candidate, it was established that he did not have accounts and stored money in foreign banks outside the Russian Federation and other foreign financial instruments were used.

Earlier it was assumed that Pavel Grudinin will be able to receive the mandate of the State Duma deputy, who was released after the death of the deputy from the Communist Party of the Communist Party of Zhores Alferov. However, Bulaev, turning to the leader of the Communist Party of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov and his colleagues in the faction, said: "He will be in the Duma if we make a decision, and you will have to expel him on the second day."
