Fake "Vesti of the Week": the European Union was disappointed in Ukraine, and the elections in it are falsified with the help of "dead souls"

The release of "Vesti of the Week", published on the day of the election of the President of Ukraine, was almost half devoted to this country. One by one, the plots of different correspondents talked about how bad things were there. So, the chief of the Vesti European Bureau Mikhail Antonov in his story speaks of the disappointment of European politicians in the new Ukrainian statehood, which has developed after the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych:

“Ukraine today, it seems, further from the European Union than it was even during the time of Yanukovych. A course for joining NATO recorded in the Constitution is like a carrot, behind which a donkey run for an eternity. ”

This idea in the plot should be confirmed by statements by European politicians. That's just the list of those who agreed to give comments to the “Vesti of the Week” does not look too representative.

The first was the leader of the Left faction in the Bundestag, Ditmar Barkch, who criticized the Ukrainian authorities for corruption. There is nothing unexpected here: the German “left” are distinguished by pro -Russian views and advocate the abolition of sanctions against Russia imposed by the European Union in connection with Ukrainian events. Therefore, it is quite predictable that the deputy who gave an interview to “Vesti” is interested in corruption in Ukraine, and not in Russia.

However, Barkch is a radical oppositionist, and does not have real influence on the policy of Germany and the European Union. Let's see what other politicians found Antonov to confirm his thesis.

The next in the plot was a well -known Russian viewers (and somewhat worse - German) political analyst Alexander RAR. This adviser to Gazprom, the honorary professor of MGIMO and a member of the Valdai club, without an accent speaking Russian, noticed that there were no laudatory articles about Petro Poroshenko in the German press, and observers who visited Ukraine talk about a large protest electorate. As for the protest electorate, here he did not discover any America: it was precisely the protest moods that the leader of the presidential race Vladimir Zelensky owes his popularity. But about the German press, Rar clearly shouted his soul: there is no shortage of benevolent publications in relation to the President of Ukraine. So, one of the largest German newspapers Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in a recent article on Ukrainian elections notes successful reforms carried out by Poroshenko and his merits in stabilizing the economy, although it indicates that he has many opponents in the country.

But the RARA cannot be considered a German politician at all, he has nothing to do with either state power or parties, and is widely known as a lobby for Russia's interests. But the titles of the third participant in the plot, Willy Wimmer, look solid: the ex-deputy of the Bundestag and the former vice president of the OSCE. Says Wimmer this:

“We have no desire to have anything in common with Ukrainian corruption, oligarchs, Nazi battalions. Americans break their teeth about the European position in this matter. When I hear messages from the OSCE in Ukraine, about the internal state of the country, my hair stands on end. This is a state that cannot perform its functions. I do not claim that we are perfect, however, if we compare Ukraine with Western European states or the countries of the continent, then it remains only to keep silent. ”

True, it turns out that the “News of the Week” for solidity slightly increased it in the rank: in fact, the Wimmer was not the vice president of the OSCE, but the OSCE parliamentary assembly. He held this position until 2000, after that until 2009 he remained a deputy of the Bundestag, but then left the big policy. After Euromaidan, he sharply opposed the Western policy against Ukraine, considering that the support of the new authorities of the country is cracking in Europe. Constantly cooperates with the German editors of the Russian website Sputnik; In the first three months of 2019, he wrote 12 articles for him.

Thus, to confirm its thesis that Europe is turning away from the Ukrainian authorities, Antonov did not find anyone but the radical levak-opposition, a well-known lobby for the interests of Russia and the permanent author of the Russian propaganda site, as well as one deputy of the European Parliament from Poland, representing a little-known Freedom Party.

In another plot from the same issue of Vesti of the Week, the correspondent Elena Erofeeva says :

“Donbass Poroshenko did not choose. But in the state register of voters there is still their data. On elections day, they could cross the border and give their vote, but they are not at all interested in the future of a foreign country. But Poroshenko does not disdain them with their voices - neither alive nor dead. So in the electoral lists was Alexander Zakharchenko, who died in August last year, the terrorist attack was organized by the special services of Ukraine. And the battalion commander Mikhail Tolstoy - the call sign Givi. "

This is commented by the former Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov, the head of the government overthrown by Euromaidan:

“This is primarily due to the installation of Poroshenko, with the installation of his headquarters for maximum inclusion in the electoral lists of persons who obviously will not vote, they will not know, which means that their voices can be safely used by throwing them into the ballots.”

It did not occur to the correspondent and ex-Prime Minister that the Ukrainian election man simply had no right to do otherwise: those residents of Donbass who did not apply for abandonment of Ukrainian citizenship are considered citizens of the country and, according to the law, should be included in the election lists. As for the dead in territories that are not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, including Zakharchenko and Givi, their death is not registered by the official bodies recognized by Ukraine, which means there is no formal grounds for excluding them from the lists.
