In Crimea, two Crimean Tatar activists were fined for posts on social networks

On May 31, 2019, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol fined under Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (propaganda or public display of paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations) of two Crimean Tatar activists, Lutfiye Zudiev and Mumina Saliev. The first was fined two thousand rubles, the second - one thousand. In both cases, publications in social networks.

Zudieva was fined for a photo with inscriptions in Arabic and Turkish, published on Facebook more than five years ago by another user. As he tagged Zudiev in his post, the photograph was also displayed on her page, but for some reason Zudieva did not delete it.

An expert who studied this photograph concluded that extremist inscription. At the same time, the expert himself does not speak Arabic.

Salieva was fined for posting with Hizb ut-Tahrir symbols.
