Two videos for songs by Ukrainian artist Boris Sevastyanov are banned

Clips for the songs "Take me, mom!!!" and "Magadan" were recognized as extremist.

On June 6, 2019, were added clips published on YouTube for the songs of the Ukrainian artist Boris Sevastyanov "Take me, mom!!!" to the Federal List of Extremist Materials. and Magadan.

On March 5, 2019, the Artyomovsk City Court of Primorsky Krai recognized the clips as extremist and banned the distribution of audio recordings of songs posted on a number of sites (including Yandex.Music and SoundCloud). With a lawsuit to ban the two mentioned videos, as well as two songs of the ultra-right groups "Vandal" and "Kolovrat", the court filed and. O. Prosecutor of the Primorsky Territory. His claim was based on the results of a psychological-linguistic study of all four materials. Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Psychology of the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service identified in them "signs of extremism" (statements with negative assessments of a group of people identified on the basis of nationality and origin; statements about the advantage of a group of people identified on the basis of origin; calls for a change in the political system of Russia ; calls for hostile actions on racial and national grounds).

From our point of view, although Boris Sevastyanov adheres to nationalist views, the clips "Take me away, mom!!!" and "Magadan" are illegally banned. The lyrical hero of the first song is a Russian soldier who died in the Donbass. The song contains criticism of the Russian authorities and a call to Russia and soldiers' mothers to take the servicemen home; it does not contain any aggressive appeals - moreover, the war in the song is characterized as " useless ". In the preface to the second song, the author expresses confidence that " Russia will face great turmoil if it does not change today ", and in the lyrics of the song he claims that Russia will face a wave of mass repressions, which can only be prevented by the " Moscow Maidan ". This can be regarded as a call for a change of power as a result of mass political protest, but it is extremely vague and not accompanied by any calls for violence.

We do not regard the ban on the songs of the bands "Vandal" and "Kolovrat" as unlawful.

were administratively prosecuted for publishing a video for Sevastyanov's song "This, baby, rashism" It should be noted that earlier activists Darya Polyudova , Nina Solovyova and Batyrkhan Agzamov , and Kaluga resident Roman Grishin was convicted under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.
