The State Duma adopted the law on import substitution of medical drugs

The State Duma has adopted a law that allows you to grow drug -containing plants in Russia for medical purposes. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

In the explanatory note to the document, 13 drugs based on opium are registered, which are produced by state enterprises from imported pharmaceutical substances.

The Cabinet of Ministers notes that the international market for pharmaceutical substances for the production of opium drugs is controlled by a group of ten companies, nine of which are in the jurisdiction of states that imposed sanctions for political reasons against Russia.

“Thus, import substitution in the segment of painkillers of drugs is necessary to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation. In connection with the appropriately set, the organization of the full cycle of the production of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from cultivated drug -containing plants in the territory of the Russian Federation, ”the text of the law says.
