XVI International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky ended on June 27. According to the results of the contest, Ailen Protachin received the IV prize, sharing it with Mayumi Kanagava (Japan).
The prize of the Association of Musical Critics at the Tchaikovsky competition has been awarded since 2011. The pianists Alexander Lubyantsev and Luke Debarg became its laureates.
Ilen Protachin (b. 1987) began to make music at the age of six, graduated from a secondary special music school at the St. Petersburg Conservatory (Elena Zaitseva class) and the Moscow Conservatory (Eduard Grach class). Over the years of study at the Conservatory, the violinist became a laureate of many competitions, including a Creisler contest in Vienna and Veniawsky’s competition in Poznan. In 2014, he became the owner of the first prize of the Long and Tibo competition in Paris.
He performed with David Gorringasas, Alexander Melnikov, Theodor Kurentsis, Musicaeterna orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Rkestr, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Russian State Counter for Ef. & NBSPPSTLANOV, the National Orchestra of Lill and other musicians and collectives.
