Bishop Dionysius was appointed first vicar of Patriarch Kirill

By the order of Patriarch Kirill, the Bishop of Voskresensky Dionysius was appointed first Patriarchal Vikaria while maintaining the post of first deputy manager of the affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate, Interfax reports with reference to the Moscow City Diocese.

Bishop Dionysius replaced Metropolitan Arseny, who was the first Vicar of the Patriarch for many years. In connection with the recent election of the Metropolitan to the Lipetsk department, the Patriarch also freed him from the administrations of the parishes of the Central and Southern Vicarians of the Moscow City Diocese. There, the leaders will be Bishop of the Voskresensky Dionysius and Bishop of Bronnitsky Thomas.

Instead of Bishop of Voskresensky, Archbishop Yegoryevsky Matthew, who will remain managing northeastern vicarism, was appointed to the southeastern vicarism.

By the order of the Patriarch, the Bishop of the Voskresensky Dionysius was appointed chairman of the commission on church property and land ownership at the diocesan council of Moscow.
