The US Congress has prepared a bill that involves the introduction of sanctions against 24 FSB officers for the detention of Ukrainian sailors in the Kerch Strait.
Sanctions suggest the introduction of restrictions against 24 high -ranking FSB officers and their “closest associates”.
“The US Congress still decisively condemns the dangerous naval attack of Russia into the Navy of Ukraine and the illegal detention of 24 Ukrainian sailors,” the authors of the bill-representatives of the Democratic Party and two Republicans said.
They noted that "the international community should not be inactive," but "to strengthen the punishment for Russia until all 24 Ukrainian sailors return home and the courts of Ukraine will be released."
On November 25, a conflict occurred in the Kerch Strait between Russian border guards and Ukrainian warships. Ukraine claims to warn about the passage of ships that followed from the port of Odessa to the port of Mariupol, and the Russian border boat “carried out frankly aggressive actions”, raising the raid tug. The Russian authorities accused Ukraine of “provocations”.
