The Federation Council approved a law banning those on the Rosfinmonitoring list of extremists from working as machinists.

A law against extremist machinists has been approved.

On July 23, 2019, the Federation Council approved the law “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Railway Transport in the Russian Federation”‎”. It was adopted in the third reading by the State Duma on July 11, the second reading was held on April 9.

The adopted amendments to the federal law on railway transport introduce a new article on the certificate for the right to operate rolling stock on railways. In addition, Article 25 of the law is supplemented by a new paragraph 3.1, according to which it is forbidden to hire, " directly related to the movement of trains and shunting work ," persons involved in the list of extremists and terrorists of Rosfinmonitoring. If an existing employee is included in the list, the company will have to terminate the employment contract with him.

It should be noted that the list of Rosfinmonitoring includes convicts, as well as those accused and suspected of involvement in extremist and terrorist activities.
