FSB officers detained 20 Muslims in Yakutsk

In Yakutsk, FSB officers detained 20 Muslims suspected of propagating extremist materials.

On July 19, 2019, in Yakutsk, FSB officers detained 20 Muslims, natives of Tajikistan, living in the same apartment. According to the FSB, in the apartment was organized " the activity of an illegal prayer site, where on a regular basis religious gatherings of adherents of the ideology of radical Islam were held , as well as “ propaganda was carried out prohibited extremist materials and the involvement of new members in extremist community ."

Two people from among the detainees were expelled outside the Russian Federation.
