Vakhitova was traveling by car to Ukraine to visit her relatives. First, she was stopped at the border crossing in the Kursk region, photographed, fingerprinted and saliva samples were taken, after which she was not allowed to cross the border. After that, she tried to pass through Belarusian territory, but Russian border guards stopped her there as well, recommending her to return to Russia. They also showed a letter from the investigator of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan. It stated that her brother Airat Ibragimov is accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), and Vakhitova has information about his whereabouts, and her actions may contain elements of a crime under Art. 205.6 of the Criminal Code (failure to report a crime).

Note that close relatives are not subject to criminal liability under Art. 205.6 of the Criminal Code. We consider the accusation of members of Hizb ut-Tahrir of propagating terrorism only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) to be unlawful.
