Valery Bolshakov's sentence overturned

The Sevastopol City Court considered that the charge against the activist needed to be specified.

August 26, 2019 year Sevastopol The city court considered the appeal against the verdict issued on June 10 2019 by the Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol, cc. 1 and 2 Art. 280 of the Criminal Code to the former Head of the Union of Workers of Sevastopol and Secretary of the Sevastopol Branch of the Party "Russian United Labor Front" (ROT FRONT) Valery Bolshakov. The case was returned to the prosecutor's office "for additional investigation, elimination of formal shortcomings and concretization of the charge."

Recall, Bolshakov was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, suspended hold public office on charges of public appeals to extremist activities, including using the Internet. It is known that some of the accusations were related to publications in which Bolshakov, according to investigation, allowed calls for the overthrow of " Putin's" regime " " and the establishment of the " dictatorship of the proletariat ", as well as with a single picket, which he held, imbued with " persistent hostile and intolerant attitude of the authorities ."

Previously Bolshakov accused was also according to part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code in humiliating the dignity of the Terek Cossacks, however, this him the charge was dropped from connection with the partial decriminalization of this criminal law norm.

TO unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to get acquainted with the statements of Bolshakov and we do not know whether they contained persons representing a public danger and criminally meritorious calls for violent overthrow authorities. However, I would like to note that " the persistent hostile and intolerant attitude towards representatives of the authorities "does not apply to signs extremist activities in the form in which they are described in the relevant federal law.
