Medusa guide for an unprecedented campaign in defense of the defendants in Moscow business

Starting on September 16, representatives of professional communities have been speaking with open letters in support of the defendants in the Moscow Affairs. It all started with a sentence issued by actor Pavel Ustinov, after which cultural figures began a widepublic campaign in its defense. Then, with the requirements to stop the criminal prosecution of all the defendants in the case or to revise their sentences, priests, teachers, doctors, publishers, IT industry and non-profit organizations, as well as the creators of the Game of Thrones, took turns. Medusa collected a complete list of communities whose representatives published their appeals.

Observers at the election

Who: dozens of representatives of public associations of observers (the list is replenished).

Requirements: immediately terminate the “Moscow case”, release Alexei Minyailo and other persecuted, withdraw accusations from them, investigate large -scale violations during the election campaign and voting on September 8.

Quote: “The mass riots law enforcement officers and the authors of“ Moscow case ”call the peaceful speeches of citizens, outraged by the circumstances of the elections to the Moscow City Duma. During the campaign, almost all independent candidates were arbitrarily removed from the election. Many of them were subjected to “serial” administrative arrests, searches and interrogations. ”

Artists

Who: about 250 artists, curators and representatives of other creative professions. Among them, the street artist is the glory of the PTRK, the shareholder Katrin Nenasheva, writer Lev Rubinstein.

Requirements: immediately revise all the sentences issued in the “Moscow case” to free the defendants in the case and other political prisoners.

Quote: “In modern Russia, we are faced with censorship, the persecution of artists for their work, pressure from the authorities to artists and art institutions. “Moscow business” is a critical point at which all the most absurd scenarios came together: the beating and detention of people for peaceful protest, unfair arrests, and large prison deadlines. ”

Psychologists and psychotherapists

Who: more than 700 psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists (the list is updated).

Requirements: stop the "Moscow business".

Quote: “At the moment, the relations of the state and society resemble a model of co -dependent relations in which the state shows itself as an unpredictable aggressor, the behavior of which is aimed at intimidating citizens. A similar model is destructive for both the state and for society. Violence affects not only those who are directly faced with him, but also those who witness his witness. ”

Representatives of the animated community

Who: more than 200 animators, directors, artists, scriptwriters, sound engineers, composers, producers (the list is replenished). Among them are the director animator Konstantin Bronzite and the head of the Shar school Andrei Khrzhanovsky.

Requirements: to revise the cases of all the accused in the “Moscow case” and protect the constitutional rights of citizens to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of choice.

Students

Who: about one thousand students and graduate students of Russian universities (the list is replenished).

Requirements: to free the political prisoners, including the graduate student of the Moscow State University Azat Miftakhov , immediately close the “Moscow business” and stop the affairs of the “ new greatness ” and “ network ”.

Who: more than 900 book publishers, editors, journalists, critics, translators (the list is updated). Among others, this is the editor -in -chief of the New Literary Review publishing house Irina Prokhorova, representatives of the publishers of Eksmo, Ad Marginem, Bumpniga, Corpus.

Requirements: Immediately review all sentences in the “Moscow case”.

Theater figures

Who: the organizers of the appeal are the Higher School of the stage arts of Konstantin Raikin and the Satyricon Theater. Signatures are collected among employees of Russian theaters.

Requirements: to stop the criminal prosecution of actor Pavel Ustinov, to stop abuses by law enforcement officials and correct court errors.

Quote: “We believe that such lawless shameful sentences discredit the judiciary of Russia, throw the country back, close its path to a civilized world ... We ask you to protect and save an innocent person, to prevent a completely broken life and fate”

Representatives of non -profit organizations

Who: more than 300 representatives of non -profit organizations (the list is replenished). Among those who signed the letter, employees of the Give Life charity fund, the Vera Hospice Fund, the Fair Assistance of Dr. Lisa, the editor -in -chief of the publication “Such Affairs” Anastasia Lotareva.

Requirements: to stop political repression and stop the persecution of the defendant of the “Moscow case” by Alexei Minyailo , as well as “other citizens, detained, arrested and convicted during peaceful protests in the summer and autumn of 2019”.

Doctors

Who: more than a thousand doctors and employees of the medical sphere (the list is replenished).

Requirements: to release unfairly convicted, close fabricated criminal cases and give an adequate assessment of the actions of those whose fault innocent people suffered.

Quote: “ In medicine, a suffocating atmosphere of fear and lack of freedom is especially strongly felt, preventing decisions in the interests of the patient. For more than two years, the so -called “medical matters” have been rolling throughout the country: they are arrested and judged for the unproven crimes of our colleagues. We managed to save some of them from the prison, but many are in captivity, and there are those who did not live before the release. “Moscow case” brightly highlighted that what was happening in medicine is only a private manifestation of the general crisis of the judicial system. ”

IT industry specialists

Who: more than 1.6 thousand programmers and employees of IT companies (the list is replenished).

Requirements: to stop the political persecution of the civilian population, stop fabricated affairs and free all the defendants in the case.

Quote: “We, IT specialists, see a request to ensure that all professional communities express our position on this matter, and we can’t keep silent. One of the defendants in Moskovsky was our colleague - Aidar Gubaidulin . Aydar graduated from MFTI and works in the company Sberbank Technology. At the same time, we were condemned by our other colleague, programmer Konstantin Kotov: he received 4 years in colony for participating in four promotions ... This once again demonstrates the variety of people who were affected by repressions: in 2019 in Russia, anyone can become a defendant in a political affair and for anything. ”

IT sector workers

Who: about 700 programmers signed another open letter prepared by representatives of IT. Among them are the creator of the YouTube mobile Andrey Doronichev, co -founder QIWI Kim Borisov, Group IB general director Ilya Sachkov.

Requirements: to release Konstantin Kotov and other defendants in the “Moscow case”, “to give a legal assessment of the actions of those by whose fault innocent people were detained, beaten and arrested.”

Quote: “We know how systems are lying around, how an integral organism begins to issue unpredictable, absurd results. One of these results is the absurd sentence to Konstantin Kotov. We believe that it is also time for us to react and show professional solidarity - if we do not want everyone to leave; If we want Russia to have a future; If we want specialists who have already left to return, because in our country they did not feel safe and were afraid for their business. ”

Foreign public figures

Who: 77 public figures, politicians and celebrities, including the creators of the series “Game of Thrones” David Benioff and Daniel Brett Wayss, writer and actor Stephen Fry, Nobel Laureate in 2009, Gerth Müller.

Requirements: stop the lawlessness of the Putin regime.

Quote: “As the inhabitants of the free world, concerned about future democracy on the planet, we observe anxious events unfolding in Moscow and other Russian cities in the last month. Citizens of Russia simply demand from our government the rights that we in the free world accept for granted. ”

Lawyers

Who: 20 doctors or candidates of legal sciences, as well as a member of the Presidential Council of Human Rights Anita Sobolev. They turned with an open letter to the head of the Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin because of the case of Konstantin Kotov .

Requirements: The Constitutional Court must apply to the Federal Assembly and indicate in it that the parliament did not specify the normative grounds for prosecution under the Dadinsky article .

Quote: “We rarely speak about the state of legality in our country. We mainly speak out in scientific articles and monographs. But the criminal case of Konstantin Kotov, sentenced under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, to four years in prison, in our opinion, designated a new sad line. Teachers

Who: more than 2.8 thousand teachers of schools from different regions of Russia (the list is updated).

Requirements: to release unfairly convicts, to stop fabricated cases, to give a fair assessment of the actions of police and judges.

Quote: “We hope that society and its power are able to learn the lessons of history, social studies and literature. We demand to free the unfairly convicts, to terminate the fabricated cases and give a fair from the point of view of the law an assessment of the actions of those who beat people on the streets, arrested without guilt, gave false testimonies, wrote false protocols under the copy, carried out obviously unfair sentences. Otherwise, our country is doomed to stay again and again for the second year, not having learned anything from the school curriculum. ”

Priests

Who: more than 140 clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church from more than 10 countries (the list is replenished).

Requirements: to revise the sentences issued, remove accusations from those who expect court and are not accused of violence.

Quote: “We express our concern that the sentences issued are more similar to intimidating Russian citizens than a fair decision regarding the defendants. Who : more than 2.1 thousand scientists who signed a petition on the website of the scientific publication “Trinity Option”.

Demand : “Stop the skating rink of political repressions” and free the defendants in “Moscow business”.

Quote : “We are convinced that in a country in which, instead of laws, lies and arbitrariness dominate, instead of reason - conspiracyology, and instead of a public dialogue - criminal prosecution for a peaceful expression of their opinion, there is no place for science. Such a country has no future. ”

Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Who : 53 Academician and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences from Club July 1 .

Requirement : to revise the sentences of convicts in the “Moscow case” and other politically motivated cases, to free the detainees in these cases and to hold the initiators and performers of “repression”.

Who : about 500 representatives of the Russian media who signed an open letter on the website of the journalists trade union.

Requirement : close the “Moscow case” and free already convicted defendants.

Quote : “During the protests of this summer, during which the defendants in Moscow business were detained, our colleagues were also illegally delayed, beaten, and the criminal case against Vladislav Sinitsa and the case of Yegor Zhukov were especially worried. They are not professional journalists, but we believe that criminal cases against them threaten freedom of speech - the fundamental value of our profession. ”

Cinematographers

Who : more than 150 figures of the cinema union, including directors Alexei Popogrebsky, Vitaly Mansky, Vladimir Kott, Valery Todorovsky, Boris Khlebnikov.

Requirement : revision of the sentences and the liberation of Konstantin Kotov, Kirill Zhukov, Evgenia Kovalenko, Ivan Podkopaev, Danila fugitive, Vladislav Sinitsa and Pavel Ustinov.

Requirements : the termination of the criminal prosecution of the accused and the revision of the already issued sentences in the “Moscow case” and other politically motivated cases
