Memorial recognized 53 more Jehovah's Witnesses as political prisoners

On October 1, 2019, the Human Rights Center "Memorial" announced on the recognition of another 53 Jehovah's Witnesses as political prisoners.

*"We still consider the announcement of organizations Jehovah's Witnesses extremist groundless, violating the right to freedom conscience and the right to freedom of association, and criminal prosecution followers of this peaceful creed - illegal and discriminatory.

We continue to count all those in custody or under house arrest Jehovah's Witnesses as political prisoners and call for their immediate release.

We also demand an end to the criminal prosecution of those believers against who have been subjected to other preventive measures”*, says the statement of HRC “Memorial”.

Let us recall that earlier Memorial had already recognized those persecuted for continuing the activities of the extremist organization of Jehovah's Witnesses as political prisoners.
