
In the first nine months of 2019, Russian films raised 9 billion rubles at the box office - this is 20% less than a year ago. As noted by Vedomosti, only one film - T -34 became a “billionan”, collecting 2.3 billion rubles.
The Russian-Chinese film “The Secret of the Dragon Press” raised at the box office 6 times less funds, among which were budgetary. Producers expected to receive 2 billion rubles of fees, by October 7 the film earned about 320 million rubles.
In total, the fees for January-September amounted to 40.3 billion rubles, which is 9.5% more than in the same period of 2018 and 0.6% more than in the same period of 2017. Foreign tapes increased fees by 25%, to 31.3 billion rubles. 3 billion rubles in Russia raised paintings “King Leo” and “Avengers: final”, and eight more films raised more than 1 billion rubles.
The share of domestic cinema in the rental decreased from 31.2% for 9 months of 2018 to 22.3%.
