Specialists of the Space Intelligence Center of Russian Space Forces confirmed that fragments of the Cosmos-2422 apparatus had left orbit and burned in the atmosphere. It is reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to the Ministry of Defense.

According to the message, the convergence of fragments of the space object from the orbit occurred above the Pacific. Fragments of the spacecraft burned down when passing the dense layers of the atmosphere.

The Cosmos-2422 satellite was launched on July 21, 2006 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. He could track the starts of intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Ministry of Defense noted that the spacecraft developed its resource.
