"The ban on the blog on the Internet should not prevent Yegor Zhukov to work in the media"

The ban on the administration of personal sites, which the court introduced for the Student of the Higher School of Economics, Yegor Zhukov, is a rather rare measure in the Russian judicial system. This was reported by The Insider by Zhukov’s lawyer Leonid Soloviev. However, according to him, this restriction should not prevent Zhukov from working in the media, the proposals from which he has already received.

“I have not met such things in practice, this is a rather rare case for the Russian judicial system. That's the matter: the circle of restrictions in the appointment of a conditional term for a person has practically no planks. I do not think that if Yegor goes to work in the media, then there will be some complaints to him. The ban concerns precisely the maintenance of its resource, including a page on social networks, as I understand it now. How to regulate - the question is still open. Most likely, they will closely monitor his activities on the Internet, ”the lawyer said.

According to the lawyer of the human rights group, Agora Damir Gainutdinov, an additional punishment in the form of a ban on the administration of sites, or even the use of the Internet, is used quite often in terms of extremism on the Internet, and for politically motivated matters - this is a “compulsory element of repression”. “His meaning is to make a person abandon the public expression of his opinion under the threat of replacing a conditional term with a real one. Of course, there is no reasonable explanation for this, especially since in the case of Zhukov this is actually a ban on the profession, so there is a clear violation of not only the right to freedom, but also the right to respect a private life, ”the lawyer noted.

We will remind, earlier today the Kuntsevsky court of Moscow found the defendant of the “Moscow case” Yegor Zhukov guilty of calls for extremism and appointed him three years in prison. Also, Zhukov was forbidden to administer the site and lead the channel on YouTube for two years. The frog figure and the flag that he used in his videos, the judge said to destroy. At the same time, the student will be returned to the camera, laptop and tripod.

The accusations against Zhukov are connected with several videos on YouTube, in which he talks about methods of non -violent protest. The examination of the videos was carried out by the employee of the FSB FSB Institute of Forensics Alexander Korshikov and the expert of the forensic center of the Investigative Committee Kirill Khmelevsky.

Zhukov stated that investigators suggested telling him about other participants in the rally on July 27 in exchange for house arrest in the case of “riots”.

Zhukov is a fourth -year student at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Higher School of Economics. Earlier, he was removed from him in the riots, but they made a case of public calls for extremism due to the video on his YouTube channel.
