The ex-head of the Shchelkovo district of the Moscow Region was detained due to a bribe by the Mercedes-Benz car

The ex-and-in-law minister of transport of the Moscow Region, Alexei Valov, was detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale as the head of the administration of the Shchelkovo district, he was charged. It is reported by Interfax.

According to the investigation, in 2017, the accused, “occupying the position of head of the Schelkovo municipal district, received a bribe from his subordinate in the form of granting property rights to the Mercedes-Benz car worth more than 6 million rubles, of which half of the amount and insurance premiums in the amount of 241 thousand rubles were paid for a subordinate for general patronage and connivance on service.”

Valov was appointed head of the Shchelkovo district in 2014, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region in the spring of 2019. In November, he quit from this post.
