Orel: a verdict was passed in the case under Art. 280

In December 2019, in Oryol, a court sentenced a local resident to 1 year of suspended imprisonment after he was found guilty of publishing images with xenophobic appeals on a social network.

In December 2019, the Zavodskoy District Court of Orel passed a verdict in the case of public calls for extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code).

In the dock was a local resident who, according to the court, in 2017 and 2018 published on the social network VKontakte images with xenophobic calls directed against people from the Caucasus and Central Asia.

It is reported that the young man shared far-right views.

At the trial, he fully admitted his guilt and expressed repentance. The court sentenced him to 1 year in prison with a probationary period of 6 months. In addition, the court banned him from engaging in activities in the field of information and telecommunications technologies for 1 year.
