Zelensky banned electricity import from Russia
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky by his decree banned electricity import from Russia under bilateral contracts.
The law notes that the Ukrainian government may temporarily cancel the ban "in order to avoid an emergency in the united energy system of Ukraine."
Ukraine stopped buying Russian electricity in 2015. In the fall of this year, deliveries were resumed after the Verkhovna Rada allowed to import electricity from Russia and Belarus to two -way contracts.
