Altai Territory: an unsuccessful star, a bad joke or propaganda?

In December 2019, in the Altai Territory, a 21-year-old counselor at the Chaika children's camp posted on Instagram a photograph of children lying on the floor and depicting a swastika. He captioned the photo, "I love my job."

The motives of the counselor are not clear, but he himself claimed that it was just a bad joke, and his act did not carry malicious intent. He explained that he did not belong to nationalist movements and did not try to humiliate anyone. The young man retired from the camp.

The regional Ministry of Health offered its interpretation of the events, where they said that the photograph was taken during preparations for the New Year's performance, and the children were rehearsing a dance on it and tried to depict an asterisk.

An educational conversation was held with the employees of the "Seagull", and the administration of the camp took control of the preparation of the holiday.
