The leader of the ruling Polish party “Law and Justice”, Yaroslav Kachinsky, said that Russia, along with Germany, is obliged to pay Poland compensation for the damage that the country suffered during the Second World War. He stated this in an interview with the German publication Bild.
“The world knows the truth: it was the Stalin Soviet Union that invaded Poland on September 17, 1939. These were Soviet soldiers and executioners of the NKVD, who in 1940 killed hundreds of thousands of Polish officers. But Putin does not like the role of Russia-Palach. He does not admit that Poland is a victim. Therefore, he wants to rewrite history
Russia must also pay. But I do not think that our generation will see how Moscow will accept its responsibility. Our complaints have no statute of limitations, ”said Kacinsky.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that the issue of Germany payments for destruction in Poland during the Second World War was still not closed. Warsaw plans to demand new compensation from Berlin.
