Turchak: Head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev is expelled from United Russia

The head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev was expelled from United Russia. It is reported by Znak.com with reference to the head of the party council of the party Andrei Turchak.

United Russia announced their intention to consider the exclusion of Ignatiev after two scandals with his participation.

The first is connected with Ignatiev’s statement that it is “necessary to wet” journalists and bloggers, “who come from different regions of the Russian Federation are well arranged here and start writing, I don’t know what and about whom”. Ignatiev said that the meaning of his "speech was in another, but, as it usually happens, everyone was twisted and reinvented."

For the second time, the governor had to apologize when in Chuvashia solemnly handed the keys to the new special vehicles to representatives of the fire units of several regions of the republic. A video appeared on the Internet in which Ignatiev forces the Ministry of Emergencies to jump behind the keys from the new official car.

After the scandals, Andrei Turchak stated that Ignatiev’s behavior during the presentation of keys from the new fire engines “is beyond understanding”. “It seems that the governor lives in parallel reality at a time when the president talks about respect for people,” he said.

It also became known that Ignatiev will resign in the near future. He has been led by the republic since 2010, his powers have expired in September.
