On February 4, 2020, it became known that in Tver, under Part. 4 article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (carrying out missionary activities in violation of requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations) a citizen of Azerbaijan was brought to justice.
The prosecutor's check established that in a residential building on International Street, he carried out missionary work on behalf of Tverskaya regional public organization of cultural education "Unity". At this organization is not religious, and the "missionary" did not have permission for missionary work. 12 minors live in the house. The prosecutor's office considered it a violation that they "receive religious education, participate in religious rituals" at the place of residence. The same premises are visited by other minors.
