St. Petersburg: the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about the detentions of far-right activists

According to Roman Plugin, in 2019, the police detained eight members of the ultra-right group Nevograd.

On February 19, in St. Petersburg, Roman Plugin, head of the St. Petersburg Interior Ministry department, during a meeting of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly announced that in 2019, eight members of the ultra-right Nevograd group had been detained in the city.

Three of the detainees - 16-year-old Vladislav, seventh-grader Denis and 19-year-old Nikita Kovalev - were involved in the attack on two girls on Ligovsky Prospekt in December 2019. In June 2019, four suspects were arrested for attacking a 50-year-old visitor with a “non-Slavic appearance.” Three of them stated that they were members of the neo-Nazi group FristLine Nevograd.

We also recall that, presumably, it was the members of Firstline Nevograd who in September 2018 attacked the Sokol club , where the concert of the punk band Truckdrivers was to take place. The organizer of the pogrom, according to the investigation, is Andrey Link, a well-known neo-Nazi in the city. The case on the fact of the attack on the club has already been submitted to the court .

In 2020, law enforcement agencies also reported the detention of participants in Nevograd. In January, 9 young people were detained in connection with an attack on a 26-year-old passerby on Konyushennaya Square. In February, employees of the center for combating extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the suppression of an impending mass brawl and the detention of a 34-year-old resident of Kupchino, a 23-year-old unemployed man, a 23-year-old "leader of one fan movement", as well as a 16-year-old and 14-year-old girls.
