Putin allowed state regulation of drug prices in emergency situations and with the threat of an epidemic

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allows the government to establish maximum permissible prices for medicines in an emergency or a threat of an epidemic.

According to the document, the government will be able to limit the maximum retail prices for drugs that are not included in the list of vital and most important drugs, as well as for medical products, if they have risen more than 30%.

At the same time, the authorities will be able to record prices for medicines for a period of not more than 90 days.

It is planned that this innovation will eliminate repeated price overstaters from resellers who sell medicines and medical products in small batches.
