A resident of the Baymak district was fined for a repost containing the banned "Book of Monotheism" by Muhammad ibn Suleiman at-Tamimi.
On April 7, 2020, the prosecutor's office of Bashkortostan announced that, at the initiative of the prosecutor's office of the Baimaksky district, to liability under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (mass distribution of extremist materials) a 32-year-old local resident was involved. From the case file on the website of the Baimaksky District Court, it follows that it was Zila Mukhametzyanova, who on April 1 was fined 1,000 rubles.
It follows from the court ruling that on Mukhametzyanova's page on VKontakte, a repost of the publication of the user Ahlu-Sunna al-jama'a was found, containing a number of files. The archive "Saadi (13 Russian books).zip" contained the file "Kitabu Tawhid as-Sa'adi.pdf". " When this document is opened, the name "The Book of Monotheism" appears, after a selective reading of which the correspondence of the first 67 chapters of the "Book of Monotheism" by the author Muhammad ibn Suleiman at-Tamimi was established," the resolution says . It also states that the book was declared extremist by the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow in 2004.
"The Book of Monotheism" by Muhammad ibn Suleiman at-Tamimi (Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab) was indeed recognized as extremist in Russia in 2004 by the Savelovsky Court. However, Mukhametzyanova distributed this treatise with comments by the theologian Abdurrahman ibn Nasir al-Saadi. Various editions of the "Book of Monotheism" with comments by al-Saadi were also recognized as extremist courts in Norilsk and Novorossiysk .
We believe that although the text of the treatise contains individual elements of hate speech and a number of references to jihad taken from the original source in a positive way, it is impossible to approach the religious work of the 18th century with modern standards. Therefore, we consider the prohibition of this work to be unlawful. Al-Saadi's comments are not of an aggressive nature, and cannot give additional grounds for restricting the distribution of the treatise.
