WADA completed the investigation of the doping of Russian athletes

Experts of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) completed an investigation into manipulations with doping tests of Russian athletes, which were stored in the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory. This was reported on the website of the agency.

As a result, manipulations with data of 145 out of 298 samples of Russian athletes were identified. The results of the investigation were transferred to 28 international federations.

In 2015, WADA published a report on the widespread use of doping in Russian sports. Because of this, the Russian team was not allowed to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Athletes approved by the International Olympic Committee performed under a neutral flag.

On December 9, 2019, the WADA Executive Committee unanimously voted for the removal of Russia for four years from all major competitions, including the Olympic Games and World Championships. In December 2019, the WADA Executive Committee deprived the Russian Anti -Doping Agency of Correspondence Status. Thus, Russia has lost the right to participate in major international tournaments for four years, including the Olympiads. In addition, the civil servants of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the OKR and the PCR are prohibited from attending international sports events.
