Mishustin announced this to Vladimir Putin and appointed the acting Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. He also stated that he was self -isolation, the government will continue to work in normal mode.

Sergei Sobyanin said that Mishustin was constantly checked for coronavirus, "the prime minister avoided unnecessary contacts, but infected."

Earlier, Mishustin headed the Coordination Council under the Government to combat the spread of coronavirus in Russia. The Council was created on March 14.

In addition to Mishustin, the council included the first Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the operational headquarters to combat Coronavirus Tatyana Golikova, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister for digital economics, innovation and communications Dmitry Chernyshenko. The Council also included Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov.

On March 12, Mishustin stated that "the threat of coronavirus spread in Russia was minimized, despite the situation outside the country."
