Markets in the district centers of the Novosibirsk region opened after businessmen's requests

The Governor of the Novosibirsk Region allowed the markets to work in all settlements of the region, except for Novosibirsk. This was asked by rural businessmen.

Retail markets in the Novosibirsk region will resume work on May 12. The exception will be trading platforms located in Novosibirsk, Governor Andrei Travnikov said to reporters.

The markets were closed from April 19 in settlements where more than 23 thousand people live. Then, according to the register of the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, in addition to Novosibirsk, markets in Berdsk, Barabinsk, Kuibyshev and Ob were banned.

Rural entrepreneurs opposed such a decision by proposing to increase the population limit to 50 thousand people. They assumed that larger retail facilities that were not registered as markets would not be closed.

“From trading facilities with the names“ Trade Center ”,“ Trading Pavilion ”,“ Fair ”,“ Seasonal Fair ”, our organizations differ only in the word“ market ”and additional obligations,” rural businessmen said.
