Microsoft Corporation announced the creation of one of the five most powerful supercomputers in the world. The company reported this at a conference for Microsoft Build developers.
The new supercomputer was created exclusively for the Openai research company, the founders of which are the head of SpaceX Ilon Musk and the former head of the Yat Combinato Venture Fund Sam Altman.
According to Microsoft, this computer entered the top five of the most powerful supercomputers, the creation of which was announced publicly. The machine has 285 thousand processor nuclei (CPU Core), 10 thousand graphic processors (GPU) and a network capacity of 400 GB per second for each GPU server.
The Microsoft supercomputer is designed on the basis of Azure clouds, which has the advantages of cloud infrastructure, such as rapid deployment, dtacenters' reliability and access to Azure services. The machine will process data for various models and AI-algorithms, as well as train the next generation of massive distributed artificial intelligence models.
As specified in Microsoft, the creation and training of such models requires super -computed infrastructure or clusters of modern equipment connected using high -through capacity networks. The company expressed confidence that the new supercomputer will strive to make the next generation of infrastructure accessible to a wide range of developers.
