
The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case of negligence against the mayor of Norilsk Rinat Ahmetin after the spill of diesel fuel. This is stated in the message of the department.
According to the UK, during the investigation it was found that Akhmetchin was aware of the amount of fuel spilled from the tank, but did not take the proper measures to respond to the emergency and to eliminate its consequences. In particular, he did not organize the activities of the Directorate for Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Norilsk administration, did not ensure the functioning and interaction of bodies and officials of local self -government, and did not organize control and monitoring of the environment.
Akhmetchin has already been charged.
Earlier, the director, chief engineer and his deputy TPP-3 NTEK JSC in Norilsk were detained in the case of the fuel spill. SK said that they are in the status of the suspects, in the near future they will be charged and a measure of restraint will be elected to them.
Recall, on May 29, on the territory of the TPP-3 NTEK, which ensures the energy supply of the Norilsk Industrial District, the fuel tank was depressurized. The storage contained more than 21 thousand tons of diesel fuel. It fell into a stream that flows into the Ambariya River and went further along the water basin. The situation was announced by the federal level emergency.
