The general meeting of founders of the Russian anti -doping agency (Rusada) decided to dismiss Yuri Ganus from the post of general director of the organization. It is reported by Sport Express.

In early August, the Supervisory Board of Russia recommended considering the possibility of dismissing Ganus. Then Ganus announced disagreement with this decision. “I am a professional in my business. Members of the Soviet Unit made the decision for which they will have to answer. They recommended, I did not understand on the basis of what. We dispute that report, many questions arise, ”said Ganus.

According to him, after his dismissal, it may be difficult to restore the All -Russian Athletics Federation in the International Athletics Association and the Russian Biathlon Union in the International Biathlon Union.

The meeting of the Nabsy Council was convened after the publication of the report on the results of the study of the effectiveness of internal control systems in relation to the business processes of Russia for 2018-2019. The publication took place the day after the statement of the President of the Olympic Committee of Russia Stanislav Pozdnyakov about “serious violations” discovered during the audit of the Russad. Both organizations spoke sharply about what was happening, which caused a serious conflict.

Yuri Ganus then told The Insider that he did not agree with the decision of the supervisory board, and his dismissal could lead to serious consequences.

The 56-year-old Ganus was appointed CEO of RUSADA in September 2017. He opposed doping, repeatedly spoke sharply to the Ministry of Sports, heads of sports federations and the Kremlin. At the end of 2018, Ganus had one of the major conflicts with officials related to the transfer of data from the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory for International Experts. Expert access to the laboratory was complicated, in connection with which Ganus wrote an open letter to Vladimir Putin. “Russia, like no one else, should be interested in understanding the problems of its past,” he wrote. The presidential administration announced that Ganus does not own all the information.
