Former Open Russia member Anastasia Shevchenko's house arrest was extended for three months

A court in Rostov-on-Don until December 1 extended the house arrest of Anastasia Shevchenko, a former member of the Open Russia Council, accused in the case of an "undesirable organization." This was reported by the telegram channel "Pravozashchita Postcards".

At the same time, the court softened the conditions of Shevchenko's arrest: now, while walking, she can visit grocery stores and pharmacies. Previously, she had already been mitigated by house arrest by lifting her ban on communicating with other persons.

According to MBKh Media, at the meeting, Shevchenko said that the extension of house arrest is a mockery. “I have been under arrest for 20 months for an agreed rally and meeting in Ulyanovsk. The child does not understand what it is to go to school when the mother is not under arrest. He is already in the third grade. When I was arrested was in the first. There are no grounds for an extension. I have never made an attempt to communicate with witnesses, and I can’t put pressure on the investigation, because it is over, ”Shevchenko quoted the publication as saying.

• Anastasia Shevchenko was a member of the federal council of Open Russia. In January 2019, a case was opened against her for “carrying out the activities of an organization recognized as undesirable on the territory of Russia” (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code), the first criminal case under this article. At the end of January 2019, she was placed under house arrest.
• Shevchenko's criminal case is based on two administrative offenses under the article on "undesirable organization" (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
