In Perm, the court closed the case of E. Grabovenko, accused of “illegal” missionary

In Perm, the court closed the case of Bishop Eduard Grabovenko, who was accused of running an "illegal" missionary activities because of the Sunday school Easter video, where the story of The suffering of Christ was illustrated with a nail used to prick a doll.

On August 28, 2020, the world court in Perm ruled in relation to the senior pastor and ruling bishop of the Russian Church of Evangelical Christians (Pentecostals) Eduard Grabovenko. He was charged under Part 4 of Art. 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (implementation of missionary activities in violation of the requirements of the legislation on freedom conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations).

The reason for the accusation was a Sunday video school of the church "New Testament", released by the community before Easter. It was a video tutorial which the teacher, talking about the sufferings of Christ, pricked with an iron nail doll Seryozha to demonstrate how painful the Savior was. Roller called outrage among social media users.

The police filed a lawsuit against a non-religious organization, but personally to Grabovenko, who was not involved in either the creation of the video or his publication.

The court did not see the composition of the offense and closed the case.
