In Chelyabinsk, an activist of The Other Russia was convicted of organizing the activities of the banned NBP

The court gave Artem Golubev a suspended sentence.

On September 1, 2020, the Leninsky District Court of Chelyabinsk sentenced 18-year-old “Other Russia” activist Artem Golubev to four years of suspended imprisonment with a four-year probation period according to the Article. 1, 1.1 art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization and recruitment into it).

Golubev was found guilty of continuing the activities of the banned National Bolshevik Party (NBP). The case was considered in a special manner . At the same time, the meeting was closed - according to the court, due to fears for the safety of the participants in the trial, their close relatives, relatives or close persons.

We would like to remind you that at the end of August the same court found “The Other Russia” activist Alexander Kryshka guilty under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization), he was sentenced to two and a half years of suspended imprisonment.

Artem Golubev was detained on June 8, 2020 in Chelyabinsk along with Alexander Kryshka and Mikhail Prosvirnin. All three were arrested. Golubev was charged under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code, and Kryshka and Prosvirnin – under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code.

According to investigators, the accused continued the activities of the National Bolshevik Party (NBP), which was recognized as an extremist organization in 2007; this activity was expressed, in particular, in the fact that on April 25, 2020, they attacked the monument to Czechoslovak legionnaires in Chelyabinsk, striking it several times with a sledgehammer and unfurling the banner “Respond for Konev!” (in connection with the attack on the monument, a case of vandalism was opened under Part 1 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code, but there is no information about bringing relevant charges against the National Bolsheviks), as well as an alleged attempt to set fire to the building of the prosecutor's office of the Leninsky district of Chelyabinsk in protest against the beating that happened on May 6 and rape of a detainee at the district police station.

We consider the ban on the NBP and the persecution of activists for participating in it to be unlawful.
