In Perm, a student was sentenced to compulsory labor under Art. 354.1 CC

He uploaded a photograph of Andrey Vlasov to the website of the Immortal Regiment.

On September 1, 2020, the Perm Regional Court sentenced under Part 3 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of information expressing clear disrespect for society about the days of military glory of Russia related to the defense of the Fatherland) to 200 hours of compulsory work with the confiscation of the computer of 19-year-old student Daniil Simanov .

The reason for the persecution was that on May 4, 2020, Simanov, through an application on a social network, sent a photo of Andrey Vlasov to the Memory Bank website for its further broadcast in the Immortal Regiment Online campaign. The Investigative Committee reported that, according to Simanov himself, he committed these actions "to justify the betrayal of A. A. Vlasov, an accomplice of the Nazis, and to glorify his person." In an interview with 59.ru, Simanov said that Vlasov's photo was published due to "young age and historical illiteracy": "I was very mistaken in Vlasov's personality and used false sources that described his actions positively. I saw this information in the community, just he flipped through the social media feed, noticed, began to read - there his actions were justified. Simanov pleaded guilty and does not intend to challenge the verdict.

From our point of view, Simanov's actions are qualified incorrectly, since he did not disseminate any information about the days of Russia's military glory, in particular, about May 9th. Therefore, we consider the verdict against Simanov unlawful.
