In Karelia, the case of non-payment of a fine awarded under the article on justification of terrorism was dismissed

The court in Medvezhyegorsk dismissed the case against Ekaterina Muranova for failure to pay a fine, which she was awarded under the article on justification of terrorism in December 2019. This was reported by the publication MBKH Media.

Muranova paid a fine of 350 thousand rubles according to the details provided at the request of the FSB Directorate for Karelia, after which she notified the department in writing about this. In July, the FSB sent Muranova a certificate confirming payment of the entire amount.

“On what basis the bailiff service decided to prosecute Muranova for failure to pay a fine is absolutely unclear. However, bailiffs act in their usual repertoire: first, drag a single mother, who is at home with a young child, to court, hold her there for 4 hours, and then begin to understand the situation,” reports the words of the coordinator of “Human Rights Postcard” Alexey Pryanishnikov "MBH Media".

• In December 2019, Ekaterina Muranova was found guilty under the article on justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and was sentenced to a fine. According to investigators, on November 2, 2018, the girl, “sharing the ideology of anarchism, realizing the illegal nature and social danger of her actions...”, published a comment in a group on VKontakte, as well as a post on her page. The materials were dedicated to Mikhail Zhlobitsky, who committed an explosion at the FSB building.
• Muranova did not deny that she wrote this comment, but does not consider it a justification for terrorism.
