Representatives of the “No!” Campaign, opposing constitutional reform, filed a collective lawsuit in the Supreme Court with a request to cancel the results of the vote on amendments to the constitution. This was reported on the campaign page on Facebook.
Among the plaintiffs is the Executive Director of Open Russia Andrei Pivovarov, journalist Ilya Azar, municipal deputy Julia Galyamin and one of the leaders of the Memorial human rights center Sergey Davidis. In addition, 42 thousand people are attached to the lawsuit, who support the requirements for the abolition of voting results.
In their opinion, the CEC did not have a legal right to introduce a multi -day vote.
As Sergey Davidis noted in a conversation with The Insider that the lawsuit is not only to court, but also to society, a reminder to him about the illegality of the voting procedure.
“It seems to me that this is such a situation in which“ do what and what will happen ”. Unfortunately, the environment does not at all contribute to the observance of laws and letters of laws, and the Constitutional Court committed fundamental violations related to both the content and the form of amendments to the Constitution, recognizing them by the corresponding constitution.
Now a lawsuit of a formal property. It concerns important, but formal issues - voting terms, which are not relevant to the federal law, the powers of the CEC, violations related to the determination of the voting procedure. This is also important, but the fundamental things that were ignored by the Constitutional Court are much more important. But, nevertheless, it is also necessary to pay attention to those less substantial, but also important violations, which he had not yet concerned, to indicate that both the order and the deadlines were also unlawful and internally contradictory within the framework of that legal structure (although it is not legal in itself). Within the framework of which this vote was implemented.
And although the hope that the Supreme Court will see a log in the eye in power is not very much, but it is necessary to give him a chance. In addition, this appeal not only to court, but also to society, a reminder to him of the illegality of this procedure, including even such aspects regarding the technique of voting, determining order and so on. Therefore, I joined this initiative, support and became one of the applicants, ”he said.
Voting on amendments to the Constitution took place from June 25 to July 1. According to the CEC, amendments, one of which implies the “zeroing” of the presidential terms of Vladimir Putin, supported 77.92% of the voted.
