“As part of the ongoing randomized controlled global tests of the Oxford coronavirus vaccine, our standard review process led to a pause in testing to revise security data,” the statement by Astrazeneca said.

“We are working to accelerate the consideration of one event in order to minimize any potential impact on the test terms,” the company added. According to the Stat News portal, a participant who had a “serious adverse reaction” was suspected in the UK.

Recall, Astrazeneca is one of the three companies that test the third phase of the vaccine in the United States. Currently, the country has two more tests of potential vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. In July, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, stated that the Russian company R-Farm is negotiating with ASTAZENECA on the production of the Oxford vaccine in Russia.
